saturday morning we sat out on the porch and drank coffee and had bagels. then we showered and went to this art fair buffalo has there once a year that same weekend. it was really nice. so his parents, uncle bill, and us all went (aunt cin was helping set up the party along with trist's sisters and a few other family members). tristan bought me a silver pewter necklace with a flat heart charm on it, and an onyx stone we found that he's going to put in a necklace for me too!
the party was nice. big! they have a huge family, so they were pretty much all there, about 80 people i'd say. only a sprinkle of friends. (maybe 3 non-family couples). they had bought a new tent for the river (they replaced the old one that has been there for years)-- they keep it there all summer every summer because they have so many get togethers there... they have tables and chairs and stuff. it looks like a mini-park. someone had bought a half-broken slush machine from a gas station that went out of business that they had there, which made daiquiris and pina coladas. everyone was dressed in leis and hawaiian shirts or dresses. it was cute. they had umbrellas for the drinks and shishkabos for dinner. we just lounged around all evening and had a fire at night. like you may or may not be able to tell in the video, vicki was in shock when we drove up. she was truly expecting a relaxing, semi-quiet evening at home with us an her closest friends and family. she should know better. ;)
sunday we went back to the river to help clean up a little. lounged some more, and then went out on a boat on the river for a spin for 20 minutes before we had to leave. we picked up some food to go on the way and met ryan at 320p and headed home. got home at 1120p-- ryan had to run an errand before we left, then we got stuck in traffic over the bridge when we got back, which of course was to be expected.
great weekend! we can't wait to visit again with my parents next time in just a month!! =)
