After the movie, we went home and freshened up, then walked to our corner to meet up with The Millers for dinner at GoWasabi. Excellent sushi! We hadn't seen them since June, due to their gallivanting summer nature, being teachers and free birds for three months straight, so it was nice catching up. After dinner we walked around the corner to the new bar that opened up on our street, Sweet Afton. Tristan has had his eye on this boarded up building since we moved in, and when they finally unveiled themselves a few weeks ago, he was pumped! And ecstatic to discover it was a cool looking bar. So for the last few weeks, he's been watching as they installed the final touches-- windows, doors, candles.. We talked to one of the owners last week, a heavily accented late-20's Irish man, who told us they have 12 beers on tap (I think I saw Tristan's mouth salivate). The place was PACKED. Only three days 'open' (their grand opening is supposed to be tonight actually), and business was already booming. They boasted the promised [high end] beers, exposed brick, timber from fallen trees in Asia, old olive barrels, and a nice crowd to boot.
